Bettel, 42, , tied the knot with Gauthier Destenay, a Belgian architect. The prime minister, wearing a navy blue suit, and his partner, dressed in a dark grey suit, held hands as they arrived for the low key ceremony at the Luxembourg town hall, where around 100 well-wishers applauded them.

""I wish for everybody to be as happy as I am, thank you to the Luxembourg people and to everyone, I do not make any distinctions, thank you," Bettel said after the ceremony, as the crowd threw rice and confetti over the happy couple.

Etcetera claims Buhari should not be sworn in with the Quran.

A lot of Nigerians do not know that Nigeria is a secular state and they are also not aware that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria does not require that Buhari take his oath of office by swearing with the Quran. The drafters of the constitution made it crystal clear that any Nigerian of any faith or no faith can hold any office.

It would have been very easy for the constitution drafters to include it in our constitution that the president should be sworn in with the Quran. But they didn’t. In other words, placing a hand on a Quran while reciting the presidential oath is simply a tradition that is not backed by the constitution. Meaning, it is absolutely unnecessary.

On Friday May 29, the Constitution requires that Buhari gives this oath of office: “I, Muhammadu Buhari, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution.” So, why should Buhari swear with a Quran? Why shouldn’t he place his hand on the Nigerian Constitution- the very document he’s promising to “preserve, protect and defend?”
There’s is a gargantuan barrier between religion and state and Buhari should demonstrate that he recognises this fact by taking his oath of office with his hand on the constitution instead of the Quran. His loyalty should be to the nation’s laws above all else.

A lot of people will argue that Buhari swearing with the Quran ensures that he adheres to his oath. But let’s be truthful to ourselves: We have seen elected officials swear to uphold the laws of our country with their hands on the Quran and go on to steal billions of naira and break laws like crazy. It all comes down to the individual’s moral code, not a few seconds oath.
My objection is not only against the Quran. I would hold the same view if it were the Bible, the Book of Mormon or any other religious scripture. The drafters of the constitution made it clear that the Nigerian Constitution, “shall be the supreme law of the land.” It is the living legacy they bestowed upon us. It is the framework for our government. And as such, that’s the document our president should place his hand on. It should be clear to us on May 29 that the president views the Constitution as our nation’s alpha and omega. As a matter of fact, your religion doesn’t matter when you are taking a position in office because religion has nothing to do with running a country.
I personally think that being sworn in with any kind of religious testament is a waste of time and useless. A lot of people in the out-going government were sworn in with the Bible but did they deliver any of the things they promised the country?
To some people, it doesn’t matter whether the president-elect is sworn in with the Quran. They’re probably used to seeing it happen. We just take it for granted that it is the way things have always been done, but it doesn’t necessarily make it right. In my opinion, any elected leader in any secular country like ours is voted in to represent everyone in that country. So why not swear with a document that means something to everyone, such as the constitution?
Wouldn’t that make more sense, instead of swearing with a religious document that only represents a chunk of the population? Imagine if a Juju priest was elected President, would it be okay for him to be sworn in with ‘sango, orunmila or amadioha’ or some other work written about atheism? Would it be okay for an ogboni president to be sworn in with the ogboni book of sacred covenant? I am a Catholic and I believe completely in not swearing with the Bible because there are multiple religions in the country and swearing with a Bible will not cause the sacred binding to the truth if the person swearing does not share a religion with the Bible. The Bible does not have the same meaning to every person. So it shouldn’t be counted as a true binding document.
Finally, we shouldn’t also forget that oath taking of any kind is absolutely forbidden by the Bible:
“But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.” – Matthew 5:34-37

36 year old woman who married her son's 15 year old friend

A woman who married her son's 15-year-old friend got emotional during a TV appearance on This Morning talking about their relaitonship.Lisa Clark, from Georgia in America, fell for the teenager when she was 36 and claims he initially told her he was 17 when he was actually 14.

They confided in each other while she was going through a messy divorce and her family accepted the relationship, despite her ending up in jail because of it.
She told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford:
"When you have two people who have very low self esteem who come together. I was drinking a lot. My dad had just died, I was going through a bad divorce of being cheated on a lot.

"There was a lot of issues. He was just there and very persistent and it just happened. It was crazy. It was the stupidest thing I've ever done. Wrong place, wrong time, something I deeply regret."
Lisa eventually fell pregnant and the pair were able to marry when he turned 15 due to the laws in Georgia, although she was later arrested for her relationship with him when he was younger.
She served time in jail but the pair got back together when she was released and had another child.
Eamonn told her:
"In theory, you are a sex offender, many would class you as a sex offender or a paedophile."
Lisa responded:
"A paedophile is someone who is attracted to someone who hasn't reached puberty yet," adding: "It was so long ago now, I've moved on, it's not a part of my life now."
The pair are now separated and she insists they are focusing on co-parenting their two children and she has put the relationship and her mistake behind her.

Woman's car explodes after lighting up a cigarette.

A woman's car caught fire after she lit a cigarette while driving. It's thought that the incident, which happened in the town of Velikiye Luki in Pskov Oblast in West Russia, occurred when the driver had a leaking gas canister in the vehicle.

When she went to light her cigarette, the naked flame ignited the gas and caused a massive flame that engulfed the vehicle. The green car, a Citroen Xsara, was being filmed by a driver in a vehicle travelling behind it in the right-hand lane through a residential area.

Apart from veering slightly to the right, the Citroen is being driven as normal until fire appears to come out of the side windows and underneath the vehicle.

The Citroen driver immediately stops the car across the lane and jumps out allowed the flames to engulf the inside of the vehicle. She was heard screaming and seemed to have smoke coming off her back, but otherwise appeared to be uninjured.

How We Defeated Jonathan – Tinubu

APC, leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, yesterday, attributed the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan in the last presidential election to a commonsense revolution anchored on a rebellion against the excesses of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He spoke at a book launch in Lagos where Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka extolled him, and Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as the drivers of the uprising, which he said, was fast-tracked by President Jonathan’s mishandling of the Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF crisis.

The public presentation of the book “Dynamics of Change: The Amaechi Years”, was witnessed by a cross section of the political class and civil society including governors, former governors, senators among others.

Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte, who was chairman of the occasion, said the book only offered a glimpse into the vision that stimulated the infrastructure and developments during the Amaechi years in Rivers State.

Amaechi on his part gave a peep into his political challenges, noting how even when he got Tinubu angry before the APC convention, both men set aside their issues for the common goal of achieving victory in the elections that were yet to be held at that time.

Open Letter To Ex Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu

By Popoola Babalola: Dear Asiwaju,
I trust that this letter will meet you in the best state of health and in highest form of sound mind. I am also hopeful that your family is doing well in all ramifications.

I will like to congratulate you, on the success of the APC in the 2015 general elections. No individual in modern day Nigeria has worked as much as you did to get us to where we are. This is some considerable level of success. Never in Nigeria’s political history has the progressive taken control of the centre until now. I believe this would not have been possible without your immense sacrificed and doggedness.
For this, I want to thank you and express my profound gratitude for helping us in seeing a matured democracy. Without mincing words, your role as a democrat and a leader of a virile and strong opposition has helped us sustain our democracy and build a solid nation.

Also of note is your role in the deliverance of Southwest from reactionary politics.

Since the year 1999, you have continued to provide vision and leadership to the region. You have been able to guide us from the era of serial embezzlers to an era of serial performers. The quality of leadership you have provided has resulted into tremendous development within the region. Across the Nation, Lagos has become the template for infrastructural development and Osun has become the acceptable template in social welfarism. You have redefined political leadership, and have put Southwest on the front burner of Nigerian politics. This is evident in the emergence of the Buhari/Osinbajo ticket, which defeated a sitting president and demystified the power of incumbency.

As we set gaze on the horizon for the dawn of the new administration birthed from your struggle for a better Nigeria, I am taking the liberty of this medium to call your attention to two salient issues. These issues are crucial to our beloved Southwest. The timing of this letter is based on the recent release of the proposed APC’s zoning formula. The choice of the medium is founded in your open-mindedness and your positive attitude to receiving different viewpoints and putting them into consideration for decision making. The first issue bothers on the election of the leadership of the National Assembly while the second issue relates to nominations and appointments into the Federal Executive Council of the incoming administration.

With the inclusion of Prof Yemi Osinbajo on the presidential ticket of the APC, the leadership of the party in the Southwest has set the tone for other regions to follow. This inclusion meant that the South western axis of the party is committed to putting credible candidates forward to represent the region in the pursuit of national development. The vice-president elect is an erudite lawyer and a man of integrity – whose vast experience in legal practice and as the attorney general of Lagos State speaks volume on the caliber of service he can render to Nigeria in his new office.

It is on the foundation of his inclusion on the ticket that I now seek to build my discussions on the two (2) issues for which I write. Regardless of the zoning of leadership roles in the national assembly or whatever positions the party decides to zone to the Southwest, it is important that the region continues to provide the best hands for such roles. This is important because of the marginalization and the not-so-good representation of the Yoruba race in the outgoing administration. Yes, we were marginalized – the Southwest did not get enough quality roles in both the National Assembly and the Federal Executive Council.   Where Yorubas were appointed for roles in government, they were people of questionable character and dubious history. How shall we describe the role of Senator Hosea Agboola as a Deputy Majority whip of the senate? Or how do we describe Jelili Adesiyan’s appointment as a minister of the federal republic? These are men who cannot express themselves in a logical manner and whose speech were never articulate. Or how shall we classify Senator Musiliu Obanikoro’s role in the outgoing government?

These men, by their roles in the outgoing government, have placed heavy question marks on the sophistication and educational prowess of the Southwest.  Consequently, now that we have a voice in the national government, we must put the best men forward, to bring back the southwest’s reputation for being the intellectual brain box of our dear nation.

Specifically, we must seek to provide representations with good quality in the leadership of the lower and upper chambers by ensuring a merit-based emergence of members as leaders. Based on house rules and practice, members are appointed into leadership position based on their legislative experience and their rank in any of the Houses. An analysis of the newly elected Senators revealed that only the duo Senator Sola Adeyeye, and Senator Jide Omoworare meet the said requirements. A comparison of the legislative credentials of these two (2) lawmakers, using legislative experience and  performance in the chambers, points to Jide Omoworare as the most qualified for a leadership position in the red chambers.

Apart from being young, Omoworare has a combined legislative experience of 12 years covering his stints at both State and Federal legislature, making him the Senator from the South West with the highest legislative experience. In terms of performance, information has it that he sponsored about 9 bills on the floor of the Senate in the last four (4) years – the highest of all the senators from the Southwest. Omoworare played crucial roles in the exposure of the scam and fraud dubbed as “subsidy” in the petroleum industry. He displayed so much unrivalled courage and bravery in a PDP dominated Senate, and remained the only lawmaker to have called for a division in the 7th Assembly. The call for division is a line toed by only astute and recognized lawmakers in developed democracies. The profile of this young man shows he is a qualified lawyer who holds a masters degree in his profession. Truly, Asiwaju, I think he deserves to occupy the highest leadership position  coming to South West in the 8th Assembly of the Senate.

In the same vein, the  indefatigable Femi Gbajabiamila qualifies for the highest leadership role zoned to the Southwest in the House of Representatives. Like Jide, Femi has about 12 years of legislative experience and he is also a seasoned lawyer. No one can argue against his effectiveness in the 7th Assembly, first as a minority leader and later as the majority leader after the formation of the APC. His stellar performance, quality of delivery on the floor of the House and courage in front of a federal government backed opposition has carved a pan-Nigerian outlook for him.

Of course, it is certain that nothing I have stated in this letter will be new to you. You know both of them – as a matter of fact they were under your tutelage during your tenure as the governor of Lagos State. However, I believe that it is only important that you receive an outsider’s perspective and opinion of the legislators that the leadership of the Southwest APC will tap for leadership roles in the 8th Assembly. As a matter of fact, both candidates provide for a balance in the internal politics of the Southwest region. While Jide hails from the Oyo-Osun axis of the region, Femi represents the Lagos-Ogun Axis. It is my projection that this selection will allow for more inclusive political interplay within the region.

In the same vein, the Southwest leadership should also nominate and support credible, experienced and cerebral individuals for ministerial, federal board and parastatal appointments. Federal appointments should be merit-based. APC cannot afford to adopt the model of the outgoing party were men of questionable characters were appointed as ministers just to fulfill the wishes of some demi-god. How shall we classify the tenure of Senator Ogunlewe, who was the Minister for Works at one time and could not find a lasting solution to the Lagos – Ibadan expressway? Or what was the impact of the late Haruna Elewi who believed that GSM is not for the poor while serving in the ministry of communications.

Lastly sir, you are revered by the people in my generation as the greatest manager of human resources in Nigeria. We believe in your ability to spot talents in people and put them in positions where the best of their abilities can be used for the greater good. In the light of this, we have a firm believe that you and the APC leadership will select people with proven track and public records to take strategic positions in this new government. Asiwaju, please, bring back our Southwest of intellectual and effective political actors.

Let the best men represent us in the Buhari/Osinbajo government.

Tinubu claims Amaechi will continue to serve Nigeria in vital positions

Tinubu has showered encomiums on governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State..Speaking inLagos on Thursday while delivering his speech as the special guest of honour at the presentation of the book titled Dynamics of Change: The Amaechi Years, the APC leader said..

“We are here today, because one of the generals in the Common Sense Revolution Army, Rotimi Amaechi is bold and willing to show the world what he has achieved in the task to chart the critical path to total political and economic emancipation of the people whose mandate he enjoyed for 8 years.

“In my view, our gathering to celebrate the landmark achievements of my brother, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, in Rivers State in the last eight years is also another justifiable celebration of idea of Common Sense Revolution for development. The publication of the book, Dynamics of Change: The Amaechi Years is a timely service to history. This occasion is all the more remarkable because of the huge challenges Amaechi has been facing especially in his second term from an extremely hostile federal government. His role as the chairman of the Governors’ Forum invariably brought him into a bitter collision with President Goodluck Jonathan.

“Governor Amaechi and most of the governors want a properly defined federalist relationship with the government at the centre. The President would have none of that as in the notable example of the management of the federation account. This is, therefore, another great opportunity to salute Amaechi’s rare courage of conviction and sense of purpose. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has every cause to be proud of him.

“Rotimi will go on from here to continue to serve Nigeria in key positions. He will not be alone. He will share the company of many change agents and professionals who have cast their lots with the new political order under the Leadership President elect, General Muhammadu Buhari”.

Good news for LASU students... well for most of them.

After taking a long compulsory election break, Lagos State University, LASU, will on Monday, 18th of May, 2015 resume academic activities. It will be recalled that the student leaders had recently threatened to stage a protest if the school authority do not call them back for resumption in just few days. The students had also accused the State Government of having interest in the closure of the school. But in a fresh meeting held by the State Government,  the Varsity’s authorities and university unions, Monday, 18th was picked for the school’s resumption.

Sanusi blows his trumpet on the $20b issue.

The man who blew open the corruption saga that rocked the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Emir Muhammed Sanusi, has once again reaffirmed that the NNPC failed to remit billions of dollars to the federation account.

Sanusi explained this further in a piece he wrote for Financial Times yesterday. Read his full write up after the cut.

Just over a year ago President Goodluck Jonathan suspended me from my position as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria after I questioned an estimated $20bn shortfall in oil revenues due to the treasury from the state oil company. As I said then, you can suspend a man, but you cannot suspend the truth. The publication last month of a PwC audit into the “missing billions” brings us a step closer to it.

When I was central bank governor I raised three broad questions. First, did the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation remit to the government the entire proceeds of its crude oil sales? Second, if it did not, is there proof of the purpose to which the unremitted amounts were applied? And third, did NNPC have the legal authority to withhold these funds?

Contrary to the claims of petroleum minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, the audit report does not exonerate the NNPC. It establishes that the gap between the company’s oil revenues between January 2012 and July 2013 and cash remitted to the government for the same period was $18.5bn. And it goes into detail about the NNPC’s account of how it used that money, which raises serious questions about the legality of the state oil company’s conduct.

The auditors say a significant part of the unremitted funds is supposed to have gone towards a kerosene subsidy that had been stopped two and a half years earlier by the late President Umaru Yar’Adua. His decree never appeared in the official gazette, leading some to question whether it ever had legal force.

Evidence disclosed in the report suggests this is a sideshow. The executive secretary of the agency charged with administering subsidies confirmed that, acting on Yar’Adua’s orders, it had ceased granting subsidies on kerosene. There was no appropriation for such a subsidy in the 2012 or 2013 budgets.

Throughout all this, Nigerians paid 120-140 naira a litre of kerosene, far more than the supposed subsidised price of 50 naira. Yet the state oil company withheld $3.4bn to pay for a subsidy that in effect did not exist. I have consistently held that this was a scam that violated the constitution and siphoned off money from the treasury.

The second major item raised in the report relates to the transfer of oil assets belonging to the federation to the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, a subsidiary of the NNPC.

NPDC has paid $100m for these assets, from which it extracted crude valued at $6.8bn but paid tax and royalties worth $1.7bn in the period scrutinised by the auditors.

PwC was unable to establish how much of the remaining $5.1bn should have been remitted to the government. But the report showed that, along with the private companies NPDC partnered with, it was extracting crude worth billions of dollars but yielding very little revenue for the treasury. I was investigating related transactions when I was suspended.

The third major item is a claim of $2.8bn by NNPC for expenses not directly attributable to crude oil operations; PwC said “clarity is required” on whether such upfront deductions from remittances to the federation accounts are allowed, or whether the money should have been remitted to the government. Finally, there are duplicated expenses, “unsubstantiated” costs, computation “errors” and tax shortfalls; a total of $1.48bn has to be refunded.

Of the $18.5bn in revenues that the state oil company did not send to the government, about $12.5bn appears by my calculations to have been diverted. And this relates only to a random 19-month period, not the five-year term of Mr Jonathan, the outgoing president.

Nigerians did not vote for an amnesty for anyone. The lines of investigation suggested by this audit need to be pursued. Any officials found responsible for involvement in this apparent breach of trust must be charged.

The Emir of Kano, Muhammed Sanusi, who was governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria wrote this in Financial Times on 13 May

Look at where a doctor forgot his phone.

A Jordanian gynaecologist is alleged to have accidentally left his cell phone in his patient’s abdomen during a Caesarean section section in April this year.

Hanan Mahmoud Abdul Karim, 36, was admitted to a private hospital in Amman for the operation on April 24, according to the Jordanian media. During the procedure, the gynaecologist somehow misplaced his mobile phone in the woman’s abdomen.

Majeda Abdul Hamid, the patient’s mother, told the media that after Hanan gave birth to a 4.8 kilogram baby boy she was discharged from hospital, and later the family started noticing her abdomen vibrating.

“My daughter suffered serious pains and could not move. I brought her back to the hospital where she was treated but nothing was done for her,” the mother was quoted as saying.

Hanan was then admitted to the casualty department of Al Bashir public hospital in Amman where X-rays revealed a foreign object in her abdomen. Physicians in Al Bashir hospital operated on Hanan and removed the phone.

Hanan’s case echoed in the Jordanian parliament, where the parliament member Salim Al Bataynah urged the Jordanian government to resign as a result of this scandal. “In countries which show respect to their nations, and following such scandals, governments usually resign,” he was quoted as saying. “The parliament should show responsibility and be on the level of the case.”

How We Planned Lekki Robbery In 24 Hours – Suspects Reveal

Following the arrest of 4 suspected members of the 22-man robbery gang that invaded the Lekki branch of First City Monument Bank, FCMB, 2 months ago in Lagos, killing five persons, preliminary investigation revealed that some of the suspects were oil bunkerers recruited from Delta, Ondo states and Arepo in Ogun State.
They were identified as Duke Odogbo, 38; Lawrence Kingsley, 31; Ebi Tosan, 20, and Ekelemo Kuete, 30. Recovered from the suspects were a 2008 model Honda Accord car purchased by one of the suspects from his share of the loot; a white Blackberry Z10 phone, one Apple i-Phone 5, one military face cap, used during the operation, and 120 expended ammunition.

Speaking on how the planned the robbery, Odogbo said it took the gang 24 hours to plan the operation at Tarkwa Bay. He further told a crowd at the Police Command headquarters, where they were paraded, that his share of the N15 million loot was N500,000. In his words, “I was invited by a friend from Warri, Delta State, to come for bunkering job. But on reaching Lagos, I was told it was a bank robbery.I told them I was into bunkering and not robbery. But because they told me we were going to make much money from it, I decided to join them.

“On the day of the operation, we left Tarkwa Bay at about 4.30 p.m., in two boats; with 11 persons on each. But one of the boats developed fault on the way. We all entered the good one. We got to the bank few minutes after 5p.m. Immediately we left the canal, some of us went to the road and started firing, thereby making way for those of us that would go inside. I led the team that went in.

“We were all putting on Army camouflage. I shattered the entrance glass with bullets and when we got inside, we demanded for the money realized for that day. The manager told us they did not make much. But we broke into one of their strong rooms where we got some money. We also broke into two ATM boxes, but there was no money in either of them. We told ourselves that the operation must not exceed 40 minutes.

“To my surprise, by the time we were leaving, I discovered that my colleagues were with seven extra rifles. When I asked, they said they saw some policemen in a van, concluded they were there for us and shot at them. I was not the one that shot the policemen. I did not kill anyone. It was when we got to the forest, located in an island in Ikorodu that we discovered that the amount stolen was N15 million and I got N500,000. I used my share to boost my bunkering business.”

On the speed boat used, Kuete confessed he drove one of them, adding that he was given N50,000 at the end of the operation. Kuete, who resides at Arepo area of Ogun State, said: “I must confess, I knew that we were going to rob a bank. I am a bunkerer at Arepo and I make at least N80,000 from each operation. I was hired to take them to the bank. I remained in the boat with four others, while the rest left for the bank. When they came back, we headed straight for our hideout, where our leaders shared the money according to individual’s involvement. I got N50,000.”

Why I challenged past presidential elections - Buhari

The president-elect has revealed why he challenged past election results and didn't concede defeat in 2003, 2007 and 2011.He said he wanted Nigeria to be free ..
Buhari,  stated this when Delta State All Progressives Congress members visited him in Abuja,
“Going through the court is not easy, both materially and physically, and I maintained that consistency because my view about my country is that Nigeria should be truly free.”“I understand why many of you, who were denied the opportunity to choose those you want to represent and lead you are taking the line I took in the last 12 years – in line with our constitution.
“Whether you get it or not, the most important thing is that you believe in the system and you should continue to try until the system is perfect.
“I express my condolence to you for the people murdered and I assure you that my objective of remaining consistently in partisan politics is to make sure that Nigerians are given their inherent right to choose whoever they want to lead them,”

I will send my wife to her father's house if she tries to change me - Denrele

Denrele Edun has opened up on what to expect when he gets married this year.He says he can't wait to have children.Read excerpts from his new interview with Encomium

Will you drop your weird attitude by the time you get married?
It will continue. I am not putting up an act. This is who I am. I am happy about it. If I stop, people will think I have been living a lie for a long time, it will be a complete waste of time. It will be better for me to run to a country that is not on the world map. I don’t think I am weird, I am a regular guy, I am really grateful to God for that. I rather retrieve my bride price and send her to her father’s house. She will just spoil my market, Denrele fetches me money.
It seems Denrele is getting fair?
It is powder and photoshop. Of course, I am a little lighter than I used to be. I started appreciating myself and taking good care of myself. Again, my mother is not a Nigerian, she is not African. She is Indian. When I was in secondary school, I used to be very light, gradually, I became dark. My mom used to complain all the time that I am too dark. All in all, I just started taking care of myself with the right products
When will Denrele marry?
This year. I don’t want to say much about it. I don’t want anybody to know the bride. I can’t wait to start having children. I love children so much.
Have you found Miss Right?
It is a yes or no. I am still trying to understand what is going on. I have been into relationships that the person wanted to change me. Someone even fought me because of my friendship with Goldie. I just want her to understand me and where I am coming from. She is a Nigerian but I go with the flow, anything can happen
You often give the impression that you would have loved to come as a lady?
This is a good question nobody has ever asked me before. I look a lot like my mother, I know I look towards the feminine side, there is no denying it. People have even labelled my mannerism and gesticulation to my sexual preference but I always tell people, whom you go to bed with is different from who you go to bed as. If I was trying to be a lady, I am deceiving my conscience and living a lie. I am just comfortable with the person I am, I am comfortable with my identity I have built over the years. I am comfortable with the brand that is selling my market. We are in Nigeria, we are conservative people, they frown at what I do but they secretly admire the guts I have, they secretly wish they have such gut too. I was a bit confused about my identity while growing up. Every day people asked me if I was a girl or a boy. Even at the university, most time, I open my chest and tell them I will open my trouser too if they can open their’s. We will just end up laughing about it. I like who I am, I can’t give up Denrele for anything.
